Evening Comrades

Does anybody know if network rail apply a maximum commute to their roles like many of the TOCs do (60 mins for example)?

I’m based in South Gloucestershire and am looking at a role in Hereford.

TIA

Was 90 minutes for bands 1-4 and 60 minutes for bands 5-8
Sweet. I’m looking at band 2 so I’m good to go!

On another note - do you get a certain number of attempts at the Signaller process like you do with the Train Driver process?

For clarity, 'Bands' 1-4 and 5-8 are not signalling grades........

General rule for signalling grades is an hour, but I don't think that's mandated at present.

On the subject of this - is there travel distance restrictions on all Network Rail jobs?

I've had a few rejections from them (unable to get feedback at the paper sift stage) for jobs I've applied for in other parts of the country.

I'm more than happy to relocate for the right job, but sadly I'm finding many rail organisations won't entertain you if you live elsewhere.

I'm not sure where this fits with Network Rail and I've seen anything specified on the job descriptions I have gone for.

Hi CJ

It really does depend on the organisation.

Some won’t accept relocation, some will, others will if it’s within reason! NR as far as I’m aware don’t have anything set in stone.

I seen that on a role at their HQ in Milton Keynes. Not sure if it meant if you already reside within 75 minutes or miles or you can relocate.
