While using BRFares, I was surprised to see LU managed stations on the Met which are not served by Chiltern having NR codes, such as Chesham, Croxley and Watford.

Have these stations ever been part of the National Rail/BR network?

Ok, just tried Leytonstone Und which is ZLE, yet unlike the Met stations, it only offers tickets as an U or a Travelcard rather than specifically Chesham or Watford Und.

That's because Leytonstone is within Zones 1-6, thus a zone U*1256 fare is appropriate. Stations such as Watford (Met) and Rickmansworth are outside of the zones and therefore have their own pricing, and get their names displayed on tickets purchased to them.

Stations outside Zone 6 are not really "zoned" in the real sense. They were merely grouped together for, amongst other reasons, fares simplification.
