Remember that I was the lead male singer in the folk group that was first set up at Manchester University in the early 1960s when I was in my late teens. I was the only one who did not play an instrument, but had no fear of stage fright. We sang many of the type of songs that Woody Guthrie sang and Pete Seegar and his sister Peggy were always worth listening to. The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem were our first sources of Irish music and the Oldham Tinkers were a rich source of Lancashire folk songs.

My business life as Senior Head of Projects at the consultancy from which I retired in 2010 was a totally different part of my lifestyle in the more mature years. Still, it was only two years ago at the age of 79 that at a concert at an elderly persons home that I was asked to sing at when I sang "Rawtenstall Annual Fair" and "The Last Train to Dobcross" with two young girls age 16 playing the guitar backing.

Delphic ruled my ears for about a year before and after the release of Acolyte. Absolutely incredible album. Their new track is okay I guess, but it doesn't really go anywhere.

A frankly massively better version than the Rolling Stones' original. Harriet Wheeler's voice just transforms it.
