Mark Stewart RIP, age 62. He was only 18 when the first Pop Group album was released, and it has to be one of the most sophisticated debut albums of all time. He was 17 or 18 when he sung this song.

Today's listenings so far:

Zappa (& Beefheart) - Bongo Fury (1975)
Korn - Requiem (2022). That's me up-to-date with that outfit.
Yes - Drama (1980). Not recommended.
Boz Scaggs - Down two then left (1977). Probably my first listen since it came out. Good in parts, not as enjoyable as his previous album.
Wire - 154 (1979). First time listen, enjoying it so far. A bit like Joy Division in 3rd gear.

LOL. What does "in 3rd gear" mean? Not firing on all cylinders?
It's similar to Unknown Pleasures in parts but at a slightly slower pace. It's also a bit slower than Wire's earlier albums.

Unknown Pleasures is one of my all time favorite albums, so I mean all this as a complement to Wire.

The two albums were released only a few months apart, so any similarity is coincidental. 154 is definitely worth a listen.

Today's listen is: David Bazan , Blanco (2016). A great album for Slowcore devotees.

Freeview Channel 071, "That's 60s" TV. Continuous 1960s music, some rather corny, others classic rock bands such as Rolling Stones, Beatles, Kinks, Who, Cream, etc. Seems the broadcast daily except between 03:00 and 09:00.

38 minute improvisation.. so Damo Suzuki has performed with the two greatest drummers of all time.

I think this is even better than the standard version!

I'm glad you enjoyed it. It took me a few listens to really get into it, but I'm there now.

I saw them live in Manchester last month. It was a great performance, with around half the songs from the 'Dragon' album.

Their other albums are certainly worth a listen (Capacity and Masterpiece are probably my favourites).

This came up as a suggestion on YouTube. Not necessarily my taste but an interesting cover featuring a 150/1 at a platform without track and weird background.

Listening & watching. Just finished Season 2 of Clarkson’s Farm.
Now generally I can’t stand the bloke, but Clarkson’s Farm has been wonderful entertainment. So funny and at the same time quite educational. Can’t wait for Season 3.

Some Italian Disco from 1980. Kano from the self titled first album. The stand out track for me is the track below which is completely different to the rest of the album.
