I had to listen to this because yesterday, in a shop, I was surprised to hear the distinctive intro but then it morphed in something else (presumably a recent release) that had completely ripped off the intro. I was extremely disgruntled, perhaps one of you youngsters can tell me who was responsible for this outrage so I can send them a sternly worded email.

Can't help you with an answer, but the development of (electronic) music samplers has enabled many people with limited talent to "pinch" sections of music produced by people with real talent.

Yet Led Zeppelin are accused, and George Harrison found guilty, of plagiarism! In an even more bizarre twist the late John Cage's publishers claimed copyright in 4'33" of silence.

Yes, there have been other cases like that of George Harrison. I suspect that he did not deliberately plagiarise another song -- but inadvertently used a tune that had become embedded somewhere deep in his brain, and failed to recognise that it was composed by someone else. He did not physically extract the music from a LP and incorporate that on his own album.

I hadn't heard that version of White Rabbit before, it sounds like her voice was just warming up, sounding a bit weak at first but belting out strongly by the end. I suppose that's because it's live.

I prefer the Great Society version of Somebody to Love (except for the guitar solo) and have it on CD but missed the link for it so posted the other one.
