Ok I bought some tickets a while back to make a journey from Wrexham to Wakefield on Saturday the 26th of March.

Wrexham General - Chester (Anytime Day Return) £4.60

Chester - Leeds (First Advanced) £21.00
Leeds - Chester (Standard Advanced) £9.50

Leeds to Wakefield Stations (Standard Off Peak Day Return) £3.60

After getting a driving license I applied and recieved my 16-25 railcard. Could I go to a manned station and get the tickets reissued with the discount? Just curious I'm not bothered if I can't.

No.

You could apply for a refund on the non-discounted fare and buy a new ticket with the discount, but this would only be of benefit if the discount is more than the admin fee of the refund.

The only way would be to submit those tickets for refund and buy fresh tickets. This could be a problem with the advance tickets as they may have sold out.

You may also incur an admin charge by the company which would make it pointless.

If they are advance tickets then it would be pointless as you can't get a refund.

And you would think Id know that as I have to run through the conditions every time I sell one. Just shows how much I pay attention to myself!

Also I only got a few hours of sleep, thats my excuse. Lets hope I don't see any advances today!

I like to think of it as the admin fee is the same as the cost of the ticket, it's the same thing really, just worded differently!
