In Leicester this weekend and my accommodation has been booked outside of the city centre so I’m relying on the ND bus to get me to and from the event.
Both this morning and this evening, passengers haven’t paid from the area I’m staying in (Braunstone/Meridian Park) until we get to the city centre. Is this usual? Is it an offer?

Most bus journeys beginning or ending in the country are free on Saturdays until the 30th of November inclusive.
Free Fare Super Saturdays
The Free Fare Super Saturdays scheme will provide free travel this autumn on many bus services across the county. As the winter months and holiday season approaches, free Saturday bus travel will help people save money, encourage connectivity, and support combating loneliness and isolation.

The scheme is being delivered on behalf of Leicestershire Buses to support Leicestershire County Councils Bus Service Improvement Plan ambitions.

Free Fare Super Saturdays when travelling to or from Leicestershire*: October 19 & 26 and November, 2, 9, 16, 23, 30.

Whether you are shopping, dining, or connecting with friends, choose the bus for a more affordable and greener travel option!

This offer is inclusive for anyone getting on or off the bus in Leicestershire on the included routes. If you already qualify for free travel, board the bus the usual way. If you are new to using the bus, don’t worry, they are easy to use!

When you arrive at the bus stop, signal the bus to stop by holding out your hand, once you board, simply tell the bus driver where you are going, and they’ll do the rest. When your destination is the next stop, ring the bell and wait for the bus to stop. You can also use the journey planner to find the nearest bus stops and services in the area.

If you are still unsure, take a look at the frequently asked questions listed below.
