Is there lift access available at Platform 7 yet? Now the London expresses are using it, I found it very difficult last time to get between Platforms 7 and 1 (and vice versa) with a heavy case. I did e-mail East Midlands trains a fortnight ago but have not had any reply.

Not from the main concourse it’s down onto pfm 4-6 then up the steps onto the middle bridge. The level access is from the car park entrance down the side street

Thanks for the confirmation that I've got a difficult time tomorrow! Too short a connection to go the long way round so across the middle bridge it is.......

I would imagine that there has been quite a decrease in the number of passengers using the First Class Lounge at Nottingham now that the London trains no longer depart from the adjacent platforms throughout the day. The First Class Lounge always seemed to be well used off peak by elderly people making use of cheap off peak advance tickets. The staff there were always very informative and good at assisting less mobile passengers with luggage from the First Class Lounge to their train.

whats happening with the post fire rebuild?
Are they just doing a cheap lash-up to more or less how it was? Or is it getting a proper rebuild / modernisation?

I thought it only had a major revamp about 4 or 5 years ago?

They seem to be stripping out and replacing most of the woodwork in the ceiling of the platform access bridge, both in the affected and (apparently) unaffected areas.

Most of it should be done for early August. Lift still pending though as they're going to replace every lift on the station quarter 4 2018 onwards.
