Hi all,

I want to travel from Nottingham to Preston and have a Macclesfield to Nottingham SOR any permitted route and Macclesfield to Preston SDS...not planned that way but how its turned out.

Would that cover travel via Tamworth XC changing to VT up to Preston?

Perhaps with bridging gap with additional tickets?

Ive already paid out over £60 so not cost saving request more can I use that quickest route back with these tickets?

Thanks,

Premier01

Nottingham - Macclesfield is permitted via Tamworth, map TL. This would involve changing at Stoke or Stafford to get to Macclesfield.

If you're wanting the quickest route however, EMT direct Stoke - Derby is around half an hour quicker than via Tamworth.

Also, remember with the tickets you have to go via Stoke, Macclesfield, and obviously Manchester also. That said, I think via Stockport (finishing early/starting short) is also a legal move.

Thanks. ..just missed the Derby train..was hoping to get VT Tamworth to Preston direct but looks like that wont work.

Wouldve been best getting Preston to Nottingham SOR im first instance and starting at Macclesfield that wouldve been cheaper and quicker :)

You can't go from Tamworth - Preston direct with the tickets you have. You would have to buy a Stafford - Wigan single if you didn't want to travel via Manchester. In any case you wouldn't be able to use a direct VT from Tamworth to Preston, so you would need to buy a Tamworth - Wigan single if you didn't want to change trains.

Yeah the Nottingham to Preston SOR seems to be valid via Tamworth so in the rush first thing today thought the tickets would cover this but I should have known better than that.
