Nottingham to London Super Off-Peak Return Options

Hi,

Quick question on behalf of my brother. He’s travelling from Nottingham to London this evening and has a Super Off-Peak Return ticket to use. It’s an e-ticket he purchased from EMR’s app.

Will this be valid on the 18:30 to Kings Cross via Grantham?

There don't appear to be any Sunday restrictions on this ticket, it is routed to LONDON TERMINALS - ANY PERMITTED, so it is valid
He will however need a reservation (online) on the LNER train from Grantham in line with their current policy - see e.g. the very recent thread on this.

The ticket isn't going to be challenged; there is a cheaper 'via Grantham' fare! (though you can't get the difference paid back )

If no reservation is obtained, that may be a problem but the ticket itself is valid

Thanks for the help guys! Good job you gave me a heads up about the LNER reservations - he couldn’t get one on the service I originally posted about so ended up travelling an hour later instead.
