Nottingham departures...
...
1545 3 car - 153+156/8
1645 2 car - 156/8
1745 2 car - 156/8
1845 2 car - 156/8

Hope this helps!!!

Hmmm. I presume EMT knows far more about their passenger usage than I do, but I'm kind of surprised that the 16.45 and 17.45 are just two cars - I'd have thought these were peak-hour commuter trains, and two cars wouldnt be enough. Or is this jsut forced upon EMT due to stock shortages?

The Liverpool to Norwich service departs Nottingham for Grantham around xx35 so whilst busy the evening departures from Nottingham to Skegness are not full and standing, unless the Norwich is late...

Yes, to a point. The 17.34 to Norwich, stops at Bingham and Aslockton - which would be a big relief (I imagine Bingham is the most important commuter stop on the line to Nottingham?) to the 17.45 stopper.

But the 16.45 sees no such relief, as the 16.35 is non-stop Grantham. I would assume that the majority of Nottingham commuters are between Aslockton to Netherfield section - rather than Bottesford or Grantham - so that makes the 16.45 pretty full most days?

Anyway, you are obviously aware of the situation on the ground, so
I bow to your better knowledge. I was just a bit surprised at the booked formations. So where do they use the three-car formations at that time - are they mostly working back from Skeggy?

All of the xx:45 departures are to/from Skegness with a 2-car 156 or 158 going forward on the Norwich. Bottesford does have a fair few commuters to/from Nottingham - good fun to see them all trying to get in the front door of the 05:50 ex-Norwich which calls there, but is the only booked 4-car Liverpool service on that portion of line. Due to the platform length it is front door loading only at Bottesford, Aslockton & Bingham.

As an aside on Bank Holiday Saturday (Aug. 26th) there isn't likely to be an HST to/from Skeg. EMT needs all the stock it can to provide extra services to/from St Pancake with Euston closed for engineering work. There is a suggestion of sourcing LHCS for the Skeg.

The 3-car set that goes out on the 1045 forms the 1545, still as a 3-car. The next two each have the 153 detached when they get back to Notts, generally being shunted to ultimately form the 1750 Lincoln together.

Interesting. So we are talking of 15? 20?
With the many stops on that train and duties that entials, I wonder if the conductor has time to check all the tikets.

Do many (any?) folks from the 'little' stations continue on the train towards Sheffield?
