Does anyone know if engineering works are taking place on the line between Nottingham & London on 9th May?

Advance tickets aren't available yet, which isn't that unusual, but if I search National Rail Enquiries the only options for trains to London, involve changing at Grantham and the like. But under the Engineering Works section of the EMT Website there is no mention of any engineering works that weekend either!

There seems to be enginerring works between Bedford - St Pancras (on the fast lines?) on that date, meaning you'd have to change onto FCC at Bedford to continue your journey to St Pancras, adding around 60 minutes extra to your journey.

Nothing shown to be affecting FCC on the Midland Mainline.
NRE Engineering works page is even denying that any EMT services will be terminating at Bedford.
Merely that 2 early morning services will be retimed and on Saturday EMT services will take 15 Minutes longer.

EMT are often quite late at releasing AP tickets for travel on Saturdays and Sundays.
I quite often travel via Grantham because they are almost always readily available up to 12 weeks in advance. By booking on the East Coast website you can sometimes, with the online discount, get Nottingham-London tickets as cheap as £10.25 via Grantham at reasonably peak times.
Sometimes I have waited for EMT to release them and they have been much more expensive, and of course by then the East Coast £10.25 tickets have also gone.
If I can get cheap via Grantham I book it rather than wait and end up with nothing.

How much business do EMT lose by this practice?

Quite a bit I should imagine!

I'm actually heading to Farnborough, so after the helpful advice on here, I've booked a ticket via Derby and Reading for £18; I couldn't find any cheap via grantham tickets.

Would rather go via London as Cross Country on a Sunday evening, isn't really my idea of enjoyment, but with the uncertainty about ticket avaialabilty, this seemed the most sensible option.
