Thanks, I did wonder, though of course that effectively leaves the old Barton route with no Sunday evening service. Swings & roundabouts......

The y4 started today very hard to judge loadings as the buses in Nottingham were in chaos for much of the day because of Robin Hood Marathon. Caught the 17.45 from Broadmarch had 11 on about the same as the i4. Though think Yourbus will loose passengers because there stop is on Beastmarket Hill. When going down Friar Lane alot of people moved forward as we sailed past. People who did get on during the journey enjoyed it being free.

As of Oct 25th Trent Bartons Two service will see a route change in Nottingham, it will no longer stop at the "Elite" and will use stop T8 on Burton Street (that's the Centrelink stop next to the Corner House). That means in misses Milton Street

Wonder if that's what they are doing with the Rainbow 1 too. Notts County Council are reporting a change on 25th October but Derbyshire county council aren't. So if it's just a route change in Nottingham that would explain it.

Milton Street and Parliament Street westwards are pretty awful for bus journeys since the Hubcap scheme or whatever it was called, though in my biased opinion probably not quite as bad as Parliament Street eastwards past the Victoria Centre. They should replace the zebras with pelicans, and provide ANPR to catch all unauthorised vehicles, with penalties including suspension of license for private hire drivers.

Slightly widening the roadway on Milton Street would help. It's too narrow for buses and the taxis, obviously designed for car widths!
I agree Parliament St eastbound is also a particular problem - though when I've seen it, its been the bit from Toll House Hill to Theatre Square that's the problem.
The Derby Road pavement widening scheme is the biggest bottleneck at present - and the biggest waste of money scheme ever undertaken by the City in my opinion.

If your referring to theManvas Street works as being pointless EU funded ones, they certainly aren't pointless from a pedestrian point of view, is now safe to cross the road, and no need to play chicken while doing so, those works really we long overdue.

Think he was referring to the pointless Derby Road pavement works. Which when finished are being dug up by Severn Trent Water as I understand it.....

Reduce the number of through lanes, as the pavement widened to create additional, narrower, crossing points. Presumably means more parking spaces for the busy shops along the road.....

New coaches are proving unreliable today at least 2 normal buses and one of the old coaches out on Red Arrow today.

And two consecutive missed rush hour journeys missing on Rushcliffe Express today. Missing Rainbow 1 in Eastwood at late morning. Two not showing in Ilkeston at 420pm and didn't pass me as I took the 15minute walk alternative into town.
In fact of the 5 trent buses I actually caught today I had - bang on time, no show, 3 late, 11 late, no show, bang on time, 5 late. And that was all after 10am and not into Nottingham or Derby.

Seems to be some slight operating problems around. And I note that 'staffing issues' caused the halving(to 80minutes) of the Rushcliffe Mainline frequency on Sunday evening.

Oh and I better not mention you need to take earplugs if catching the minibus on the 27 - the screeching is deafening....

I'm told that 2-3 of the new coaches are still being used for driver familiarisation.

Personally I would have thought they should have delayed the launch because people are making adverse comments about the buses being used or last kept enough of the old coaches in service until all the drivers are familiar. It makes TB look poor. The service bus I got to Derby was bone shaker at low speed never mind bombing it down the a52.

Hopefully it will work on the City Card rather than needing yet another ITSO smart card...

That's how I read it. The Kangaroo card is simply a multi-buy on the Kangaroo which is more expensive than any of the operators' own all-day tickets. So if you're starting out from an area with several operators you have to take pot luck, buy a more expensive Kangaroo for flexibility or a single-operator day ticket that might not be valid on the first bus back home. With this you will be charged according to what you actually travelled on, and I presume your daily total will also be capped at the Kangaroo rate.

Not sure how the Mango works, but if what I've seen is correct it makes more sense than the Kangaroo for me - the best bus for me is an NCT one but I don't use them that often, and when you've been out of an evening a Marshall's or Trent Barton bus might be worth the slightly longer walk! So it's a case of take a gamble on an NCT day ticket and end up buying a Trent Barton/Marshall single, buy a Kangaroo and end up seeing money wasted, or buy single trip tickets.

Of course, the most useful part of this is if they end up following Oyster and accept Contactless Payment Cards / Apple Pay / Android Pay* and have the same daily caps. No need to have funds on a card you use infrequently or scrambling for change.

All, what would be really useful is if they follow London and allow both season tickets and PAYG on the same card - e.g. a regular NCT user has their Easyrider loaded on it, but when they want to use the tram can just tap and go

Since the Chesterfield and Nottingham sections were split, the Nottingham section has been given priority over the coaches, meaning that 9 coaches would most likely start the day with spare buses in the Chesterfield leg. Amy branded buses off for schedule maintainance would have their replacements allocated to the northern leg.

This week, a combination of training and teething problems have resulted in buses over coaches and going forward buses are perhaps more likely than over the past few months.

Does anyone have any idea how Yourbus are getting on with their new Y4 against TrentBarton's I4?

I had also seen suggestions that Yourbus may have also lost the 110/1, is any one able to confirm/deny?

From what Ive seen of the Y4, loadings seem to be poor. Though as I travel on peak the buses I pass are typically going against the peak.

The 110/111 were cancelled with vosa widest from the Monday just passed though I believe this is part of their admin exercise to get all routes onto one 'O' license so they would have been reregistered elsewhere. They seem to be keeping the routes (for now at least)
