LOL Trent buy out YourBus? I think some people have their fanboy/wishful thinking blinkers on.

Flip that scenario on it's head and you'd be closer to the mark ;) Those Mercedes buses aren't cheap you know, like Trent's fleet. The people behind YB are real money men, they aren't some family run old mans establishment like TB.

Loadings seem to be increasing well for the YB routes too, especially Y5. The plan is going well for them.

Don't be a sucker ! :)

Always good to see a 'loony' on here. At least you bring a smile to my face each time I read your ridiculous nonsense.

Get real. There's only one fanboy in this thread and that's you, albeit in a reversed sense of pathological hatred for TB.

We all remember your pronouncements on Premiere and then moving onto YourBus. Think you've proved yourself as a bit of a trolling "no nowt" so don't bother coming on here with your embittered and inaccurate wafflings.

Such a tragic case - we will pray for you :o

Ok...Just out of interest, why are you on this forum?

First page on your profile: 'Posts by Aredflyer' every single one of them is Nottingham bus war, not one other thread.

So I went through the other 2 pages and it turns out you have just about only commented on this thread.

Now don't get me wrong, this is fine (although it is a rail forum) but all your posts have been fantasy, biased or critical.

Even your signature says it.

Oh, and im the fantasy one? Your saying yourbus are going to buy out trent?

Also, 'loadings are increasing especially for the Y5.' HOW do you know this? Oh look I saw 2 Y5 buses go past me today and were both quite full. Oh yes, there very popular. You could say 'Saw some full Y5 buses today, MAYBE the route is picking up.'

I'm sure (in fact I know) those Merceses buses aren't cheap. But neither is some of trents fleet. Those new scanias there ordering for rainbow 1 (building-photo on TB for ever fb page,) or the tempos or indeed the new red arrow coaches coming in at, what was it, 90k?!

"Family run old mans establishment" That DOES NOT describe Trent.

OK, I could go on un-picking your post but please, please do some research or ask others before posting utter nonsense again.

Thankyou for your co-operation.....

Yourbus start doing the Evening runs on the Blackcat from the end of June. I got told this week what Chalfont are getting paid for their National Express 440 runs this week , no wonder they can afford Van Hool Tri Axles!

With all due respect

Everyone has his price. And im sure if the right offer came along Tb would sell(Also your bus). This is the problem these days. how did First/Stagecoach etc etc become so big ?. Buy buying smaller companies. As a old Midland General Guy i can assure you of this. Myself and others always said Mg should have been paired with Mansfield District and not Trent. However the old green and red came into it at the end of the day (Union thing). Im just glad to see both companies doing well. though both under different ownership. Companies like Yourbus with the Financial backing they have (and yes i do know who is behind them) deserve a break and to keep up the competition which in the whole swing of things only one person is the winner. The general public aka a bus user.

TB may not be for sale at the present time but consider this; it is a private company which it's owners bought from the NBC in 1986. They were managers then and they re-mortgaged their homes and obtained loans to raise the necessary finance to buy Trent, as it then was. That was almost thirty years ago, all of them will now be in their mid to late seventies and at some point they will have a decision to make. Do they have any family to pass their interests on to, if they have, would those family members have any desire to take on a bus company? TB have already made some changes in the day to day running of the company by bringing in a manager from outside so that the owners can take a step back in their senior years. It's not a publicly quoted company so it will be sold one day, there's no doubt about that!

Ian Morgans son Tom is Manager at Kinchbus so that's one owner sorted. Mr Kings Daughter Angela worked for Network Rail down in London last I heard. Yourbus are having major issues getting Drivers . Managers and Operations staff are having to drive due to the shortage . They have a new shift that starts at 18:00 and finishes at 08:15 ! You then have to do shunting. All for £8.24 per hour, owned Ops drivers at Start Hill are on £11.38 per hour.

Let me guess, you know who's backing them but you can't say?

The reality is there is no suitor nor a desire to sell on Wellglade's part. Certainly not one of the existing transport groups; lets face it Trent is an *entirely* different beast to any division of Stagecoach, First and Arriva.

They are from West London and do a number of Nat Ex diagrams.

While on the subject of coaches I see Megabus have slightly increased there service from Nottingham by diverting the ME15 Amsterdam-London-Liverpool service to call in at Nottingham providing an additional departure each way to London departs at 08.30 from London 16.45 return to London. This service previously has had one of Megabus's left hand drive Van Hools on it.

But not so different from Go-Ahead Group i.e. Go North East

Everyone has their price - that's usually true. I suspect trentbarton's would be quite high.

If you're right that someone's backing Yourbus presumably that's to make trentbarton worth less so they can be taken over. Presumably at (or shortly
after) that point Yourbus would withdraw. That doesn't sound like the bus user is going to be a winner in the long term.

If that's not why Yourbus is being backed I'd appreciate other views on why another company/person would do that.

Do you get the impression with all the mucking around they are doing with the Y28 its struggling?
In the last 6 months this is the third route change I believe? Not much stability for users at the far end of the route.

Any thoughts on this lot? Many school and specials, and possibly DCC tenders, but a couple of well known commercial services too.

This was, until it was axed last year, one of my local services. Trent have had no involvement for at least a decade. They were running it jointly with Camms in 1999 before giving them the whole route a couple of years later. I wonder if it is merely a tidying up exercise of services they have forgotten to deregister!!

I think so. Although Glaisdale had no bus route at all except the peak time work bus W3, same as ind est.

Why was there a service from Nottingham Victoria to a Community School in Ripley?

At one time operators would do a school run and send the journey back to depot as a service and I would suspect it did a run to Kilburn school and then a 9am run to Nottingham with 3pm(ish) return.
Lincolnshire Roadcar used to have a lot of them. Just single timing point end to end. There was even one from the hamlet of Stenwith by Muston to Grantham. I also remember a Norwell to Newark one as well.

I presume when they say Trents Nottingham to East Bridgford service they just mean the 2010hrs journey. Seems strange completely axing two hourly sunday routes altogether (10A & 100) - why not first reduce them in frequency to see if a more economical way to provide a service?

I suppose the 100 may be able to survive on a reduced frequency with no council support

Problem is its NCT run and they seem to have high overheads on their rural services.
As a Sunday tendered network probably running a 2 hourly Nottingham-Southwell-Newark-Farndon replacing both the 90 & 100 would make more economical sense. Probably only add 10minutes to the Nottingham-Newark journey time.
