Notts+Derby, although low cost, produce very friendly drivers! They are a fantastic company and I know quite a few drivers by first name and will have a long chat with them if there early!!! They deserve to expand and need to make a presence back in Nottingham again!

Anyone else seen NCT new website? Better than old one! They also have an app with live departures but cant seem to find it on android.

So Yourbus Y5 extended through to Nottingham(Friar Lane) from the end of October.
Y3 gets a full evening service 6 days a week, a night service and is extended to Cotmanhay Farm 7 days a week.

No sign of Yourbus giving in yet!

Be interesting to see how Trentbarton respond.

Doyles 331 is being cut back to peak journeys only. The Alfreton to Moorgreen section becomes a 332 running to Eastwood instead in the daytime.

I don't think they need to respond - TB don't already have a route from cotmanhay to derby and im sure they welcome YB extending there route. However, it may of course effect the two.

I doubt that Trent have any vehicles left with which to do anything !

Trent are reportedly getting around 40 new buses next year, including brand new buses for the H1 and Ilkeston flyer.

4 56 Reg omnicities have arrived from Reading for the NCT/TB/N+D uni services, with two London omnicity DDs on short term loan also. And if you haven't heard, 5 ex Isle of Man tridents are on their way

Not too surprising since they haven't had any this year. It wouldn't surprise me also if indigo got new buses

There are 5 Versas on order for the H1 and six new SoLos for Radcliffe Line.
The Rainbow 1 and Derby Skylink are to have new buses also, the vehicle type has not yet been signed off.

Is it true NCTX are getting double deckers on the 35 next year? This is one of my local routes and is always overcrowded so we generally get the 30 or Y28.

I'm campaigning for new(er) buses to replace Solars 609-12, the condition of which isn't too fantastic these days IMO. My understanding is that this probably won't happen this year then. I doubt indigo is up for new stock just yet, maybe in 2015 when the current buses will get cascaded to the pronto again

I didn't realise that the Radcliffe line only has a PVR of 6, I expected quite a bit more than that!

I can see why you'd say that, but the eclipses have had a lot of use and are starting to look a bit worn on the inside and with indigo being one of the flagship routes with a lot of competition, it wouldn't surprise me if indigo got new buses to send the eclipses for a repaint and refurb to be used on other routes

What I stated above is what is on order/to be ordered for 2013/4.

No new buses this year for indigo!

What the cascade will be on the back of this I don't yet know.

Can somebody explain why NCT got rid of all-but-three of 'their' Tridents only to buy up a ramshackle of different Tridents a year or so later? Are these new ones better in terms of emissions or something?

Yes I believe that is the reason. The 3 that were kept, were kept because they had better engines for emissions.

Plus the new tridents were bought with new work in mind, initially rail replacements for the ones that have already arrived and the Uni hoppers for those that are due.

Travelled on 612 and a couple of skylinks this morning and I feel the need to reiterate my post yesterday evening. I don't know if there's now a suspension problem on 612 or if it's just the interior but the rear left-hand side (on the inside anyway) is in a terrible state. It's like something has actually sheared off so it makes a terrible racket over even the smallest bump or pothole. 612 was also grounded with an oil leak issue a week or two ago.

While not in the same state, its worth considering I guess that the skylink uses the same buses, despite being 54 plates. (609-12 are 03). I think the current Derby skylinks are only 58 reg so I don't understand why they're being replaced and Nottingham isn't? Unless they'd be cascaded onto the Notts skylink.

Either way, in addition to these two routes you've obviously got the likes of R1 and others which also use these buses. Website claims 73 solars in use at TB, all of roughly similar age I'd expect - and that's a lot of buses to be replacing!

I think they intend to keep them all at least for a few more years. The few at Sutton garage have had the new moquette fitted (and look quite nice!).

From 1st December Evening & Sunday journeys on Notts & Derby 11 (Black Cat) are axed. This means it will be impossible to travel between Derby & Ilkeston after 2015hrs on Monday to Thursday, unless you go by Yourbus! Interesting!

Personally I think it more likely that Trent will register direct evening journeys on the Ilk Flyer (to compete with Yourbus) than reinstate the evening journeys on the 11!
