Notable buses on eBay, Facebook Marketplace, etc.

I thought I'd start a thread for listings of interesting buses found on the likes of eBay and Facebook Marketplace. I sometimes like to browse eBay to see what buses are being sold there, and occasionally come across a bus that I wish I had the money to buy!

Today's interesting find for me is this unusual dual-door Volvo B7L/Wright Eclipse Metro. Apparently an ex-airport bus, it only seems to have generic number plates reading BUS 3 in the photos, but the listing suggests it is a Y-plate.

The only suggestion I can come up with is RKZ4762, new as First Northern Ireland 66994, and initially used at Belfast Airport. Later transferred to First Aircoach, reregistered 06-D-85192 and used at Dublin Airport. There are discrepancies.
Sisters RKZ4760/1 (First 66993/2) were transferred to the UK mainland where they carried multiple liveries.

B7Ls with VINs A000487, A000501, and A00037 were bodied Wright B26D and were new to Last Passive of Dublin (Aircoach) in 4/01, but there's no sign on BLOTW of A000489, which is the one being advertised. I wouldn't be surprised if it were to turn out another Aircoach, there's clearly an Irish connection.

I mean as much as I dont like electric buses you dont come across them too often expecially this model and year on this Ebay listing. At first, I did think it was cheap for a 2018 electric single deck bus but I suppose it is 8 years old now don't seem that long ago

That conversion was clearly done on a shoestring budget, they didn't even fit full vinyl seating upstairs, the first row under the closed top is still moquette!

That'll be cheap for a reason, probably find it needs new battery packs or the ones on it don't hold much range. Starting to see that on the early ones now. Another thing with the early electric 200s is the window pillars snapping because of the weight of the batteries - some are starting to look a little banana shaped.

The Volvo plate shows the VIN to end in 487, rather than the 489 on the other plate, which would make it 01-D-45249.

Some ex Nottingham City council/CT4N linkbus vehicles have been found. Optare solo EV/ solo SR EV and versa EV. I also believe there was a BYD K9UR found on there recently

This thread reminds me of a colleague from Stoke who saw a Bassetts coach SUX476X on Ebay and succumbed to the overwhelming desire to bid for it. He talked a colleague into the bid and they won. The problem was that the coach was in Scotland !!! The negotiated a deal to have it moved into Cumbria and then othr colleagues caught trains to Cumbria - possibly Whitehaven, to drive it back to Staffordshire. IIRC the gearbox was a problem and this as exchanged, bu the coach went onto a few years of service to rallies and events, but not sure if it is still on the road.

Moral of the story - buying something off ebay unseen and hundreds of miles away !!!!

Well spotted.

The eBay ad even quotes the reg as Y185HNH. So here's even more evidence of its identity.

A couple of Diamond's Scania Irizar i3 buses appear to be on sale on ebay. As far as I'm aware, Diamond are the only operator in the country who operate this vehicle type.

Which are ex-Diamond. There are roughly 15 i3s in the UK, and Diamond EM's predecessor Midland Classic snapped up twelve of them in their final years.

Mind you, I think Diamond are asking a bit much for them.

They did sell one of then to someone forget who so there 3 operators with these currently as far as I know

Nothing to really compare it to. If it was a normal bus used by many operators making parts easy to get then probably would be sort of ok but these are types of buses noone else uses and spares are only probably available from Scania/irizar themselfs making then less attractive to buy. Plus they have been on there for ages now so unless the price keeps decreasing which I think they already did a bit then don't see anyone buying any time soon
