Funny you should say that.
If it had been painted in time, they would have sent the EMT 156 to us with the 153, though the 156 would have been for display purposes only.
The fish and chip special the previous night was with the 153+141 and was a good night.

Even preserved lines aren't safe from pacers. God help us ....

of course, more are probably going in to preservation, as next year (with the arrivals of 172s) will see the first big withdrawl of 142s. And even though the DfT want to rid FGW's 142s, FGW are now saying they want to keep them!

also, Aureol, I wish the GCRN could be more thoughtful and do something like a F+C night, the selection on our buffet car isn't fantastic (although we've only just started!)

142033 felt like it was on fire - the radiators keep breaking (but the opposite way!)
142031 is notorious for similar reasons. driver9000 says it is the worst train he's ever driven
