Hi
Wondered if anyone could help me?
I have been commuting from Twyford to London Paddington on a annual gold card. The ticket is due to expire at the end of next month.

I don't need to renew the ticket due to a job location change, so my question to you very knowledgeable people is:

Other than claiming a refund for the void days available, can I claim back the 5% renewal discount (which is currently in place) as I won't be renewing? I am sure I read something about this before, but can't seem to find the thread.

Thanks in advance!

Errr.... I think you've answered you're own question. If you're not renewing the same journey (or one of lesser value on the same route), you're not entitled to the renewal discount...

I think it's worse than that and you can't even claim void days if you're not renewing.

So if you don't renew an annual season ticket, you get diddly squat, even if services the previous year were abysmal

You might be better off arranging a changeover to a cheaper season ticket, that way you'll at least get something back - annual seasons have no refund value after about 10 months. Alternatively you could request a changeover to reflect your new commute if you will be using public transport.

Except a change-over doesn't come into it, given the OP has stated that their current ticket expires at the end of March and they don't need to renew it. ;)

They should still be able to claim a refund for any void days that have been declared, however, as those are independent of renewal discounts.

The OP said they didn't need to renew it - not that they would have no need of any rail season ticket after that - it seems fair to let the OP know this was a possibility.

I think there's been an assumption that the job change is before the end of the current season ticket. It's not clear from the OP but may well not be.
Yes, that was the assumption I made.
However, you know what they say, "to assume..."

Some further information/clarity from the OP would be helpful.
