Norwich or Ipswich Driver information

hello, my husband works for Greater Anglia right now, but im keen to consider a move to Suffolk. Any Norwich drivers on here? Could anyone give me more information about how the working pattern works? He currently does 8 weeks on, 2 weeks off. 1 week of lates and then 1 of earlier etc etc. Earliest about 4am and latest 2pm. Additional 7 Annual leave days to choose.

This is the sort of info im after is anyone knows. For Norwich primarily but Ipswich too.

Has your husband discussed this with his line manager internally? It may well be that they’re able to advise on this topic, alongside the likelihood of being able to facilitate the transfer, timescales, etc.

I assume your husband works in the London area? I work for Abellio but not for GA, It will be probably on a rota basis working a four/five day week with different days off each week. I’m not sure on annual leave floating days quota. Earliest start around 3:30am latest finish about 2:am. Most likely Four weeks of allocated annual leave with so many floating days left to take throughout the year.

It very much depends on what link your husband would go into which can be seniority based. Chances are it would be the East Suffolk or IC2 links at Norwich which as are Anglia Railways does not follow the Great Eastern rostering style you mention. Shifts vary but are basically a rotation of early, late & night shifts. The East Suffolk link has more nights than IC2 & also does not sign south of Ipswich or Norwich-Cambridge. Annual leave weeks are on a fixed holiday roster that rotates over around 10 years.
