Am looking at making the above trip, out on a Friday, return on a Monday. So far I've come up with the following options:

NRW->Sheffield (EMT advance) + SHF -> EDL (day single)
NRW->Peterborugh (EMT advance) + PBO -> SHF (EMT advance) + SHF -> EDL (day single)
NRW->Peterborugh (EMT advance) + PBO -> Doncaseter (EC advance) + DON -> EDL (day single)

Are there any good routes/splits I've missed that would give a cheaper price? The Doncaster route is cheapest at £27.95 each way with EC discount.

I want to arrive in Edale around 4pm, and leave there on the Monday around 10am. No railcards I'm afraid.

Last year I got a Liverpool to Norwich advance for £12 which goes past Edale so bit annoyed that I can't get anywhere near that for this journey!

Thanks in advance.

It's next year, so advance tickets haven't been released yet. I'm just working on the furthest Friday & Monday that advance tickets have been released for to give an idea.

For coming back, I think you can get about £20 one way by buying Edale-Nottingham and Nottingham-Norwich Advances. Not sure if I can beat £27.95 outward though.

Bear in mind that prices will probably go up for next year. Past experience says that when they first go on sale the prices will be the same as now but something like 40 days before the fares increase will see prices for travel entirely after the increase go up.

I suppose they will, yes. Hopefully though the cheapest combo now will still be the cheapest combo then, just it might not be as cheap.

Yes. Splitting at Nottingham is the cheapest way. I do Ely to Hope Valley on a regular basis.

East Coast do Advance Peterborough to Edale for about £12 via Doncaster - Usually for leaving Peterborough at 1715.

You could get a late night Norwich to Nottingham and then stay overnight in Nottingham then get the first direct train to Edale in the morning. This can work out very cheap. The morning train is just £2 Nott-Edale.

You really mean morning don't you - 05:20! Didn't realise there was an EMT train that stopped at Edale though, shame it doesn't start at Norwich.
