To my surprise, I discovered that the Mid-Norfolk Railway had persuaded EMT to run a handful of roundtrips from Norwich to Dereham via Wymondham last October (news article here).
Given the recent confirmation (discussion here) about the restoration of franchised services to Swanage (and a similar pilot service with a 159), has anything happened since then to develop the idea of a scheduled passenger services going through from Norwich to Dereham? Was this simply a one off, or is anyone serious about developing a permanent service? Or are there too many bureaucratic obstacles?
Given their performance so far, I can't imagine Greater Anglia are particular proactive in pushing an idea like this forward.
