As someone has already said, I'm guessing it doesn't get THAT much work to do these day and oil can get into the exhaust and stay there getting hot so if it's just left ticking over getting warm it's easy to see how it can happen, just hope it didn't spread

Wasnt much to worry about. More dramatic than anything. Them old gronks are tougher than that.

If you look online there are many videos of diesel locomotives with exhausts spouting fire, it's not a good thing to be happening but no that bad in the grand scheme of things.
