Hi folks,

Looking to make the above trip, one way, on 2nd Jan. Two adults, no railcards.

A through advance ticket via Stratford, Jubliee line, Waterloo is a quite reasonable £23 each leaving Norwich at 11am.

Am I missing any tricks here? Also have the option of going to Aldermaston instead of BSK but as that involves going through Reading I guess that's always going to be more expensive.

We have Oyster PAYG as an option too.

Thanks in advance!

I think the £23 ticket is a good deal.

The difficult part of your journey is the London - Basingstoke / Aldermaston leg, with neither options offering an Advance fare. Therefore if you split then you will have to pay the walk-on rates for this leg, either from London Terminals or from Boundary Zone 6 together with a Day Travelcard.

With Advance fares between Norwich and London starting from £8, and singles between London and Basingstoke coming in at over £20 (or £16.90 between London and Aldermaston), I don't think there is anything to be gained.
