Hi guys,

Out and about London on the 11th and wonder if this tube station is any good for getting shots of the chilterns with there 67's and mk3's?

Thanks.

No, 67s don't run along the Met. You will see a lot of 165s and the odd 168 pass through Northwick Park and I think a lot of your views will be obscured by a large wall between the fast and slow/platform lines anyway.

You could make your way down to Sudbury Hill Harrow station which is nearby (a mile and a half I'd guess, you can certainly walk it) and get lots there though. There is currently a 60 mph speed restriction on the up line at that station too which might make getting a good photo somewhat easier.

The North end of the Jubilee Line platforms at West Hampstead can be good, and the staff seem fairly relaxed about photographers. You may want to use a camera with a decent zoom. Beware the lineside vegetation getting in the way of the shot!

Thanks guys. I really appreciate the info.

No problem! I would recommend you speak to the staff at West Hampstead just to let them know you will be taking photos, though, if you are going to be waiting for more than a handful of trains. And as you are probably aware, please don't use flash or autofocus lights!

The nearest Tube station to Northwick Park is Kenton which is served by the Bakerloo line. This is a short walk from the Met. line station at Northwick Park.

Be aware that if you're on the platform at Northwick Park and the sun is out you'll be shooting into the light most of the time; late afternoon looking towards London should not be a problem but looking towards Harrow it certainly would be!
