Because Nottingham Equals Disaster? I dunno. maybe because you found it amusing that a cl142 has Edinburgh on the destination screen. You can make a Turbostar go to 'Bed' as well....

Its not a joke. If you whip round the destination blind you will find exotic locations like Glasgow, Peterborough, Alnmouth. It is the ATN blind.

I think they believe they have a right to give needle to new people. I'm not having a go it is just my opinion.

Personally I feel it is bizarre for a company that doesn't call at Edinburgh to have it on the front of a service train, irrespective of what company it belongs to or who installed the blind.

Whilst this sort of thing isn't as rare as it should be, it can be mildly amusing in some cases.

You posted in the general topic - generally seen as a urine extraction zone. In the days of BR, units went all over on loan and thus had very long window blinds with many destinations on.

Thankfully IIRC the 14x's have only ever been to Scotland to go to Hunslett-Barclay at Kilmarnock and they not cleared for service up here, though there was talk of FSR bringing some up for the Paisley Canal/ Whifflet services, to release some 156's, but thankfully FSR got 8 158's instead.

We dont care how long you have been on the forum. You posted an open topic, giving the thread no guidance. We are just going to run with it and rip the mick out of whatever comes up including the OP.

Really I would have posted it in one of the railway forums like T&RS if you wanted to know why or Gen Discuss if you were generally taking the mick

I also dont care where you come from either. But if its Nottingham ...

But dont worry, soon our luxury fleet of Pacers will be humming away in a station near you.

Im sending him a Merseyrail one. <D

Peartree was on a branch from Sinfin but they stopped it just after privatisation IIRC

Peartree is served about once a day by EMT on Derby - Crewe. Also, why discriminate me cos I'm from Nottingham?

Can't be arsed with the school ground antics, but anyway I do like 170's for the fact that you can have "Wolverhampton" on the top part of the display & "Sorry" underneath!
Just about sums it up really.

Oh & if you see an ATW 158 service with "Balloch Express" on the display, it's probably Me. ;)
(only on ECS or after last station call before terminating station I hasten to add, punters don't need confusing as mostly they have enough problems figuring out whats going on).

I would love that for off days on a 158 display, or perhaps a long scrolling 175 display with Tourette's disorder.

As we are all going to be going via Bescot & Perry bar to brum soon due to enginering work on the stours, I would like the 158 display to include "Birmingham New Street Via Ghetto's"
;)
