although I bought the papers at two separate shops to not look like a fool
Well last time this happened I bought two copies from the same shop in Lancaster, because I was only there for one day and wanted to have two tokens so I could use the offer after I got home. Didn't get any funny looks!

With all this discussion about T&C not being clear (though I thought it was clear enough) I feel I have to ask; has anyone bothered to email Northern to ask them to make them clearer on the web site?
I emailed them the other day concerning the list of newspapers changing depending on whether you were logged in or not and they fixed that the same day. I'm sure if you ask, they'll fix it...
I suppose the risk then is they'll change it to be unambiguous that you need two tokens per day rather than two tokens per four tickets!
No, I wouldn't think so. The idea is to encourage people to travel!I suppose the risk then is they'll change it to be unambiguous that you need two tokens per day rather than two tokens per four tickets!
My preferred route would be Chinley-Sheffield-York, which is Northern Rail CLY-SHF but the SHF-YRK bit is Cross-Country (even though the route is on the Northern Rail network map) - so is this a valid journey on the special deal?

I am thinking of going to York for the day on one of these £10 tickets from Northern Rail.

If not, I'd have to go Whaley Bridge - Manchester - York, which takes longer.
Planning to do one Skipton-Lancaster, Lancaster-Carlisle via the coast and back via S&C to Skipton.
If you don't mind me asking, when were you thinking of doing it?
I was thinking of doing Leeds - Lancaster - Carlisle - Settle - Leeds, which makes quite a nice day out (with an hour at Lancaster and Carlisle), probably on the next to last Saturday this month.
Surely the Saturday after that would make for a better choice? (You know why I'm saying this)

I should add, I did the Brigg line for the first time which was absolutely delightful, so at least it wasn't a complete waste of ten pounds.
Did you get a Pacer on that or a 153?
Seems like everytime I'm on the Hope line these days it is a bloody 156...
Should have been there yesterday![]()
Easter holidays soon so will be out and about. Planning a mega 142 bash on a Saturday to see how long I can stay out just on 142s.
There have been a few of the Great Western ones around this way recently for a bit of added variety !

I'm thinking of doing the once a day Lincoln-
Hull when I start using my tokens!
