I know this isn't quite related to Northern but I didn't think it was worth making it's own thread for this.

So, given the overhauls all of the sprinters are going through at Wolverton, will the three 150/1s that got sent to LNR also go through the same treatment?
And would Northern send another unit down to cover? Because I doubt they would be able to manage with only 2 units and both being needed in service 100% of the time every day for months.

150137 is actually due to go into works at the end of this year, but it might get pushed back in favour of other "worst" units. 139 & 141 are not planned until early 2031!

All 3 units have already had C6 overhauls but the more extensive corrosion work (CSO) is still to be undertaken.

In that scenario, I'm not sure if there'd be another unit to cover.

I had a ride on Class 150120 earlier from Wigan to Atherton. For some reason it's in plain blue and white with no logos on it. Any idea why this is?

I thought 478 was for sale via auction a few years ago? Listed by Brodies. Won by Northern. I maybe wrong mind.
It was for sale via auction, didn't sell and subsequently Brodies leased it to Northern (as I remember).

According to the GBR livery thread, Northern units will now return unbranded in readiness for Great British Railways branding to start being applied AFAIK around Autumn time...

Post #960 in the "Great British Railways - First train in new livery" thread.

Apologies, after staring at the various options for quite awhile I'm still none the wiser on how to link it to this message...

Link now added, with thanks to py_megapixel!!

Right-click the post number (or touch and hold if on a touchscreen device) and select "copy link" or similar, then paste into a message.

Not especially intuitive, I agree!

Looking at the route 158910 took from Crewe to Neville Hill it must have been the only route available to get it to Neville Hill over the weekend due to the usual route via Dewsbury being closed for engineering works relating to the Trans Pennine Upgrade.

I think that such routes will be more common as the TRU ramps up.

I've noticed now that there's more 3 car 158s again at Wigan too after not seeing many for a while. Does anyone know if the 3 car sets are meant for Wigan to Leeds services or is it pure luck?

The 3 cars also turn up regularly on Halifax-Hull and some Morecambe/Carlisle-Leeds services.

They are due to be allocated to Hull BG for the Neville Hill blockade once additional investment has been completed at Hull. New siding being created now.
