Just had 319458 on an Manchester Airport-Liverpool Lime Street from St Helens Junction it ended up being 3E at Wavertree Technology Park, its one of the loudest 319s in the fleet and it seemed to be quite bouncy as well
I just missed that train at Newton-le-Willows, that's a winner too!<(

northern are going to Brodie’s to inspect the units there next week with a view to them entering traffic, 150 144 due to leave wabtec 31-3-18, 150 125 coming to wabtec next Monday but having gwr pis equipment and other gwr bits fitted as it’s going back to them and not northern

319442 was also very bouncy too.
The /4 variant was produced earlier than the /3's, so maybe they aren't holding up too well now that they're over 30 years old. Might be a taste of what's to come for the /3's in a few years time

158845 still in crewe
156420 just has the new seat covers, no new seats.

So does this mean despite the comments about new seats for 156's and recycled chapman seats for 150's the reality will be that 156's probably wont be getting new seats, 150's wont be getting chapman seats except where they already have them, and that probably only the 158's will be getting new seats?

Is there any need to change the seats in the 156's anyway all Northern 156's I have been on don't have the original seats and have found them to be ok, unlike the 158's which do have clapped out original seats

I’ve said this numerous times , angel 150s won’t be having redundant chapman seats , there’s no money to take up the floors and reposition seat fixings , northern have asked for us to make sure the 3 Lm units are exactly the same as the northern 150/1 that have Ashbourne seats before we send them to northern

150101 about to work 1456 Leeds to Huddersfield in debranded FirstGroup blue. Quite a few folks being more observant than expected, as they seem confused by a First train working for Northern!

So if anyone's after it, it'll be working the 1601 back to Leeds.

I think they'll be more observant when we get the green GWR 150's, which hopefully will be pressed straight into service up here. It'll be stark difference between a Northern unit and these Ciderboxes.

None of the ex GWR 150/1s are in GWR green, they are all FGW blue. Only the 150/0s and 150/2s are GWR green and the debate about whether the 150/0s will make there way up is still being debated.

The 150/0s would be a shock if they came up as they have been fully GWRd inside and even with the Asbourne seats are much nicer than the horrible 150/1s.

The London Midland West Midlands Trains ones are different enough though!

Isn't Northern getting the lot - both the /1's and /2's?

From what I've read and heard, Northern were getting all of the class 150's with some being reformed into three car hybrids.

Northern are only getting GWR's 150/1s as far as I know.

GWR are retaining their 150/2s, nearly all of which are now GWR green apart from 2 or 3 still in FGW blue...

GWR's 150/1s are all heading to Northern and are all still in FGW blue... (not sure if the fate of 125/925 and 126/926 and their orphan 150/2 centre cars has been decided... see post #3154 above).

It seems the 150/0 pair are staying with GWR..?

Yes, the plan is for Northern to be creating a number 3-car sets by reforming 150/2 vehicles into the middle of 150/1s.

A mistake not to replace these trains with new builds. Class 150s are only acceptable in 2018 in the GWR/ATW 150/2 configuration with 2+2 seating and tables

This as built interior is probably the worst on the network in terms of passenger comfort.

What happened to the idea of fitting new seats to 150s?

They've decided to waste money replacing perfectly good seats on 158's and 156's instead.

I quite like that refurbishment of 150102. It is a world away from the state they were allowed to get in to with GWR! Yes 3+2 seating is not ideal but the seat backs on these seats are fairly comfortable and perfectly fine for local based commuter journeys.
