I got 74% and have not hit the threshold. Frustrating as I got high marks on perceptual speed and safety. However resilience let me down.

Where do you find out your score?

I completed mine last night and my portal has updated to “You have met the threshold” but obviously no official confirmation as of yet.

Received 75% and it says i’ve met the threshold. Did well on the Perceptual and Resilience but not great on safety. Got 0 wrong answers on safety but not a high score really… Hoping

I've previously passed the psychometrics for a different TOC earlier this year but Northern said in the job advert that it needs to be passed at an enhanced standard. Does any one know if I will have to re-take the psychometrics again if I manage to get that far? About to do the MAKI test for the Newcastle vacancy now.

I'm pretty sure its just the dots you need at enhanced for northern? So i'm guessing you will just do that, to meet northern enhanced standard. Don't quote me on that though.
Also did you do you MMI interview at your psychometrics?

Yeah I managed to pass the Maki tests too.

Thanks for the info. Yeah I did the MMI at the end of the day after completing the rest of the tests. MMI was probably the most stressful part of it

Did it mention what score you got on the Maki test?

That’s a good sign then!
I only ask about the MMI section because I’ve spoken to a few people who did their psychometrics with Northern and passed everything, but only achieved the national standard on the Group Bourdon. Because Northern require the enhanced standard, they weren’t able to progress through to the MMI at the end.

I completed the test this evening, my Northern portal has updated to ‘You have met the threshold for Trainee Train Driver assessment’.
That’s a positive after having my previous application fail at the first hurdle, just hoping my score is enough to actually make it through.
Good luck everyone.
Hi.

Did you have to rate the questions ‘most likely’ - ‘least likely’ ?

It sounds like there is an absolute minimum cut off of 75%. All the people above that will then be standardised after everyone has completed the tests and only a certain top percentile from within that standardised group will go through to the next stage. So, if you got 80%, you will only go through if the majority of people above the minimum cut off were in the 75-79 bracket. If there were lots of people above 80, then you might not go through even though you 'passed".

Is there anywhere to practice for the maki test online anywhere? Ive been looking for practice tests but not having much luck, or anywhere i can get some reading information to help with what will be asked

There's not really much you can practice for TBF. One part is a spot the pattern test, and the other two parts are just standard situational judgement ones that you just have to answer honestly. It's pretty basic

I did it in January.
If i recall correctly then it was;

1. ERROR CHECKING
2. SITUATIONAL JUDGEMENT
3. RESILIENCE

I just don't remember what the resilience part was about.

It's about 30 mins in total (10-12 mins each test)

What did you score? Im guessing there's a minimum pass mark

Okay thank you for the information, have you completed it already and passed?

Yeah, just completed it earlier. Got 80, so have got above the minimum absolute limit. However, I think we will only know once all applicants have done the test whether that is enough to get to the next stage

I have no idea, didn't give me a score. I just got an email to say 'thank you, your maki results have been received'. I completed the test at 12.44am and then received an email on the same day at 10.12am inviting me to a psychometric test 8 days later in Leeds.

My friend got 78% overall and he did not go through. The situational judgement let him down.

Which depot have you applied for?

You usually hear from them within 2 days if successful. You applied for Manchester by any chance?
