At least they gave advance notice of problems on the Crewe line. Just looking now the first Chester to Manchester via Altrincham train that is expected to run is the 12:59. Not good on a weekend when there's no trams between Altrincham and Manchester.

Atlantic Travel seem to be doing well from all the Northern problems and engineering works.

Trams between Altrincham and Stretford only. Bus replacement inbound between Stretford and the City Centre. Reckon this'll catch a few folk out today.

Seems Northern are now struggling to find companies to run further replacement bus services, with requests for replacement road transport not materialising.

Just shows OLR isn't the panacea that some people believe it to be

Looking at the bus replacements listed it seems they are all Crewe to Stockport. If you're planning to get to the airport, then you've got to get a bus to Stockport, a train to Piccadilly, then another train to the airport. And if you want to go to Styal you have to walk from Wilmslow!

Indeed, something doesn't seem right with Northern at the moment, almost like they've given up trying to run a service. The amount of last trains being cancelled at the moment is shocking, and there's been occasions where no alternative transport has been provided with Northern's response being to find your own and claim back the cost
