How many London area commuter lines have an hourly service with no toilets at any intermediate stations?

With Merseyrail everywhere except the Ellesmere Port branch has a standard pattern frequency of at least a train every 15 minutes and the main interchanges have station toilets.

Correct ....

Let's all take a deep breath for a moment, hold on to your hats...

The move is set for early hours of Friday (20/06) morning, Beford to Allerton, 5X19.

The same way that the guard would get to the front of the train in an emergency if all the doors were jammed.

You might like to play the arse with others but not with me sonny.

Don't forget this is only a hypothetical guard on a hypothetical train with hypothetical passengers and hypothetical toilets with hypothetical.............

Whatever some say about 378s, the air conditioning works well and as high density passenger carriers, they are fit for purpose. The average passenger journey time must be well under one hour, maybe 20 minutes!

awful seating. Both extremely uncomfortable and shouldnt be longitudinal. Compare the seating to EPB seats or even Vep seating.. or A60/62 seating.

Any detail yet as to when the first 319s will be landing at Allerton? They're now over six weeks late!

Is the North getting the blame for 378s as well? Unbelievable. I would like to see a seating arrangement similar to 170s on the Glasgow-Edinburgh route with mixed 2+2 seating in standard class and a small number of 2+1 First class. Many railcard holders I know book First class because the fare is similar to non railcard standard class where First class is available. On my local line, many familiar First class commuter faces disappeared when standard class only Pacers replaced heritage DMUs. If 185s have First class, why not 319s as they will operate on same routes?

Unless hopper window frames are replaced, air conditioning is superfluous on journeys of less than an hour.

Now this is where I know you are either not being serious or that chip on your shoulder grows ever larger. not once did I blame the north for the 378s so stop making things up because its making you look more and more silly.

Then why mention it on this thread? The North is not interested in the Mayor of London or his silly 378 trains. Tell him your dissatisfaction, not us.

The advantage of vinyl is that most will peel off. Is it fitted right up to cantrail level?

The windows are the worst feature of the 319s on Thameslink.
They are badly scratched, and to prevent further damage have had a plastic film applied, which blocks the light and distorts the view.

I travel on 319s quite regularly and I have not noticed any distorted scratch-obstructed view for a long time, nor does the film block the light from getting in. I would rather have 319s than the 455s; the seats on the 319s are far better than the ones on the 455s, or the 377s for that matter. The 377s have a better seating layout, but the 319s are by far more comfortable.

Even if 319s were cleared North of Rugby, would there not also be the lack of drivers with necessary route knowledge?

Also, why on earth is the stock move reversing at Latchford Sidings & not running via Runcorn?

Because there is no toilets on the towing locomotive and he will need to stop for a comfort break?

Certainly going the long way around, could have saved 5 hours by going up the MML to Nuneaton via leicester, or across via the marston vale line.

Not like it really matters if it takes two days to get here, seeing as they have till December to get it fettled!

Still great news, looking very much to wizzing across the moss on a 319 vice the usual 142 :D

You must remember that these movements are not top priority when it comes to pathing. Would you, as a paying passenger, like to be held up for this thing to take priority on the Network?
