A While ago, I heard that Northern were increasing train fares for the Metro area, to fund new carriages.

Is this still happening?

I've been elected on my University Paper, and my chosen areas of interest are health and travel.

Any help on the topic would be much appreciated!

The new diesel carriages have been cancelled. The increase was due to the high level of investment in the area, rather than just new trains. As 36? 158s have been added to area, refurbished and the 321s have also had a refurbishment there is still quite a bit of investment Northern and WY Metro need to get return for without the new trains
