Yes, at very short notice. As i understand it the internal applicants failed their assessments. The vacancies were never advertised externally as Northern had enough of us " in the pool " who went for the MDD jobs in June ( i think it was then ), passed interviews and assessments but didn't get those jobs. So it went to internals first, then us " Pond Life "

Congrats are due mate; you were here when I started over 2 years ago so I know you've been plugging away at this for a long time. Just goes to show the power of persistence. Very well done

No way of telling. Still got a job though, i didn't give written notice, just verbal. No worries thanks, life goes on. I've learnt it's always prudent to hedge your bets when trying to break into the railway world, it's never been straightforward for me. Good luck

I was offered the position. Unfortunately, I recently moved back to the Leeds area.

I have been told, however, that there will be positions coming up in the near-ish future for both MDD and commercial drivers at Leeds.

This fits with what I was told by NR HR sayign that they expect recruitment to pick up in early 2016, possibly late 2015.

When I was being interviewed they mentioned two people in talent pool. If both have been unable to fill the post it will be advertised externally shortly I'm guessing.
