I’ll be halving my current salary when I start. Probably be a tough, long year!.. But that’s a worthwhile sacrifice to make for the chance to be a driver and have a career on the railway!

If you don’t mind asking, what is your current job? I’m in a similar position where I’d be more than halving my salary but I’m still continuing with the process. I’m currently an airline captain at easyJet but with redundancy possibly looming. My missus is less than impressed with the idea and some people think I’m crazy but hey ho.

im a finance manager at a local car dealership. In my opinion the motor industry is getting harder and less enjoyable (due to a variety of factors) so I’m bailing out and moving on!
