Sunday services in various parts of the country are prone to staff shortage related cancellations or part-journey cancellations on sunny Bank Holiday weekends and today the Newcastle-Morpeth, Metro Centre-Ashington and Newcastle-Carlisle services appear to have been significantly affected.
Can anyone interpret which of the following journeys were genuinely cancelled and whether any of the 5Jxx journeys actually ran as empties and if so why?
Perhaps Carlisle had conductors for their specific duties and Newcastle did not or something similar? Also seems a bit odd for cancellations to be attributed to a mish-mash of "Planning Error", "Issue with the train crew" and "Late arrival of the inbound service"?
