Can I please just say to anyone who may read this thread if you are feeling isolated or down there is always some one to talk to, be it friends, family, colleagues or whomever please do talk about it.

Many rail company's have Employee Assistance Programs these are anonymous and confidential, no information goes back to your employer and they are staffed by professionals who can help.

If your employer doesn't have an EAP then speak to either Mind on 0300 123 3393 or Samaritans on 08457 90 90 90.

I would also say for the commenting further on this thread please be mindful of the follow guidance from the Samaritans

There is also a useful video from the World Health Organisation about identifying and coping with depression

And for friends and family members

I would please urge everyone to watch these videos.

Rail track fatality at Leyland

A person has died after being hit by a train at Leyland this afternoon. The incident involved the 10.40am Glasgow South to Euston London train. A spokesperson for Network Rail said: “There’s been a fatality. Someone has very sadly jumped in front of a train at Leyland. “That happened about 1pm and clearly whenever that happens that causes disruption. “We had to close down all the tracks on the West Coast Main Line while our staff, together with emergency services, went out to recover the situation. “Services are beginning to get back to normal now. “It took around ninety minutes for our staff and emergency services to recover the situation.” National Rail reported on its website that there would be disruption between Preston and Bolton and Wigan North Western until 5.15pm.

I hope the driver of the Euston train is alright from the way it reads they would have seen everything.
Thoughts go to the family of the Northern guard and hope that all the help they need is provided sufficiently
