Can anyone (Drivers) tell me what Northern Rail Drivers starting salary is when transferring in as a Qualified Driver?
I have looked at one unofficial Rail website that gives basic and then says "training £15k"? Is this for a trainee train driver or Qualified transfer (from another TOC)?
Thinking of registering myself as no luck trying to move to FTPE (Brilliant HR Department....NOT) even though I work for FCC. Cheers

Unconfirmed reports suggest it is £17k while training for around 3-4 months then when passed out, straight onto full money (£41k).

Thanks mtbox, I thought £15k sounds a bit silly, not sure if I could afford that a year under this government!
Ok so now I (we as family) make a big decision, ideally would like to live closer to York/ N Yorkshire (work out of York) but all my interests and Yorkshire family are Leeds/ West Yorkshire, and also I think it's impossible to move into a depot like York without going through Leeds first?
Anyway thanks for info. If you have anything else you can tell me then please do.
Regards

They will only take you if you are within 1 hour of the allocated depot or you are serious about relocating

I may be wrong but I did hear that Northern Rail at York have a waiting list for drivers to transfer there so your best bet would be Leeds? Having said that, I'm sure TPE take on drivers at York relatively frequently?

Website has always stated a reduced wage for the first three months but nobody has ever confirmed what the reduction is
