back in December I applied for a conductor role at Manchester but applied for a driver at the same time. I had an interview for a conductor last Friday and about 2 weeks ago got an email relating to the driver job saying we would hear something in 2 weeks. Today I received an email saying application was unsuccessful but no job reference on it as to which it related to. It was worded thanks for your recent application unfortunately due to number of applications we feel people are more suited to the role, would it be worded differently if it was relating to the interview? (Ie following your recent interview we regret to advise you on this occasion you have been unsuccessful)??? Driving me mad

I was talking to a friend of mine who in May 2018 had applied for the position of Conductor and after the interview which was unsuccessful received this email...

Thank you for attending the recent recruitment event for the above vacancy. We regret to advise that unfortunately on this occasion your application has been unsuccessful. On the day there were candidates who were better able to demonstrate the skills required for the role.

So I believe the email you've received is for the driver position not Conductor...so there's still hope

So I believe the email you've received is for the driver position not Conductor...so there's still hope

I hope so was a strange one just thought myself there would be some reference of actually attending an interview on the email. Fingers crossed I hear some good news in the next few days then
