Hi all. I'm new to these forums so i'd like to introduce myself by letting you know that I AM the manager of Norton DMUs. One of our current projects that is a WIP is a Northern Rail class 150/2 for BVE4 and Openbve once we have an external view made for this. Below is a link to this train in WIP http://nortondmus.web.officelive.com/northernrail152.aspx. I would greatly appreciate it if you could leave me feedback on this project. Regards David :)

Good effort, but

With respect, I see no point in doing locos that have been done before. For ones like the 175/180, which are currently drawn cabs I can understand (and actively enourage) replacement with photo-real cabs if possible.
I jsut feel that by doing the same projects, you're trying to reinvent the wheel. Obviously, if you were to give the 66 a 3D cab, then that would give it some purpose etc.

So what?
I think first impressions of the cab is that it looks great!
Dont let anyone or thing get in the way of you making it!

Cheers for the comments guys! :) And mike i hate to make matters worst but this new version of the 150 as me and some guys at Oovee and in my group agree its good work this train with what we have so far. And to be truthful the old class 150/2 released by Steve Green or whomever in my opinion was rather c**p to be honest. :| Regards David.

Well, you can think Steve Ts cabs are crap if oyu want. Admittedly hand drawn is nowhere near as good as photoreal, but it's better than nothing.

Please don't think I'm slagging yopur work off - I'm not, I actually think this could be a good cab.

EDIT: Oh, hang on, the current 150s are hand drawn, aren't they?

However, my point still stands about other locos, eg. the 66. I'd seriously consider making a 3D cab for it, if I were you.

In relation to your last post Mike, the current 150s ARE hand drawn and have been done by Kenji Kimura who made those cabs originally for MSTS and his permission was given to Steve for use of those cabs. And the 66 we are making to remind other users here is going to be based on a Fastline 66/3 cab and this again is WIP and will use the same standards that are going into our 150/2 (featuring - photoreal cab and authentic sounds). Regards David :)

I know, because they're MSTS ports from Kenji I didn't pick up that the 150s were hand drawn straight away.

It's nice to have a 66/3 subclass member, but are there really that many differences? As I said before, an oBVE 3D cab would be the only thing that I'd download it for.

Not that i'm aware of no. But i don't think that our group is that advanced to make a 3d cab for Openbve so we'll just stick with a 2D cab with the external object being released later on. Regards David :)
