Class 153 153316 newly refurbished worked the Cleethorpes-Barton on Humber service yesterday
Although I cannot remember what it was it was named at Barton station midday yesterday The name being in vinyl transfers.
Seating arrangement inside is slightly different at the non toilet end 4 rows of double seats have bean replaced by 3 rows giving more legroom and marked for disabled passenger use.
The upholstery on all but these 3 rows is a patterned design the 3 rows for disabled use is plain.

Currently stabled in Cleethorpes station.
Although it has gone past my window twice today on shunt manoeuvres around the station, and when I've walked past the station the view was blocked by a 185, I've yet to fully see the name.

Presumably these are "priority" seats in the traditional sense rather than off limits to everyone else at all times (I suspect it would be quite rare for nine disabled passengers to turn up for a 153 service !).

Anyhow, it's certainly good news. I don't mind the 153's and 155's, but their achillees heel has always been poor leg room IMO.

I traveled on its 2nd journey yesterday and the inside was immaculate new covers carpeting tables you could still smell the fresh paint although I doubt it will look this nice for long.

Your right they are "priority" seats and in all the years the 153's have been working this service I have only been on one once where it was standing room only.

Northern rail has been busy refurbishing its trains to a high standard recently perhaps as the franchise nears the end

A few months back the ex FNW class 156 with a mismatch of internal colours would be my choice for the worst interior colour scheme thread but now resolved

I realise the seating is the same northern spirit fitted way back when but what is the name of this seating? Very bizarre not t have plastic backing... Reminds me of what you see on some mini buses... ie northern spirit replaced bus seats with... Bus seats.

They also seem very low down!

I guess they are trying to attract more people on their services by refurbishing their trains.

I guess they will finish the class 153s and then move onto a different class maybe the 155s. Does 153316 look different on the outside now though?

Yep, looks like bog standard coach seating to me, except that they're spaced slightly further apart. Still better than bus seating

There either Chapman or Richmond seating i'm not sure.
