Sorry, please could you explain?
Half the number of trains, slower journey time.
Popular from Shipley because you could get a seat in the morning peak, certainly, but from Bradford to Leeds?
From my journeys there I get the impression that more people prefer the BDQ route as it’s fairly slow via BDI. Doesn’t fully make sense but I can’t see how else it can be explained.

Presumably you mean the M62?

Yes the M62 my mind must have lapsed when it wrote it initally!

Well Bradford to Leeds via Shipley is at least consistently operated by four car emus, up to recently Bradford Interchange to Leeds was operated by a whole mix of things and still is to some extent, although no more Pacers.

Fully agree. Not only are the trains from Forster Square guaranteed to be four cars but, because they start at Bradford, you will never have any problem finding a seat. Nearly all the trains which serve Interchange originate in Blackpool, Manchester, Chester or Huddersfield and are frequently full, or nearly full, when they arrive in Bradford.

If NPR does go ahead via Bradford, I can envisage the new line emerging from a tunnel to the South-East of Halifax (somewhere around Siddal), crossing the Calder Valley on a long, high viaduct towards Sowerby Bridge and then shooting up the Ryburn Valley, approximately on the course of the old Rishworth branch, before passing through a long tunnel emerging somewhere in the Oldham/Stalybridge area.....as planned by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway before WW1.

That was exactly what I was expecting!

Does anyone know how much the HS2 eastern branch is expected to cost? NPR via Huddersfield is said to be £13bn, and £17bn via Bradford, but I am wondering how it compares.
