Northern platform extensions

Does anyone know if the programme of extending platforms across the Northern network is still ongoing?

Only ask as I travelled from Euxton to Liverpool Lime St earlier this week & given that the majority of trains on that route are now 6-car 331s, I was surprised how many stations wouldn't fit them.
Passengers were told to move to the front 4 carriages at numerous stations (Euxton, Huyton, Thatto Heath all spring to mind, but there were others too).

Programme has been 'finished'. I say finished because some of the plans, notably Kirkby line, haven't happened and whether it's postponed or cancelled I don't know.
Re. the Liverpool - Blackpool services, they will return to 4 car 331s next year, once the Leeds capacity upgrade is complete and they will come back from the east side - with 3 car 331s running out of Leeds.
