Same here. Love working them. Warm roomy cabs. Hopefully a 3 car will also be preserved by someone to complete the preserved set.

good to see 144003 preserved ,hoping another 142 will get saved and go to a preserved railway as i have a feeling 142001 will never move once it gets to the NRM at york (or most probobly shildon)

I hate to say it but you're probably right. So many of the NRM's trains etc get wrapped in cotton wool and so can't be appreciated the same.

Anyway, back to the present... Is there any news on today's 5Z35, the 12:27 Sheffield to Worksop? Also are there any other moves off lease today I've missed?

With 441 already up there it's the first time that Chapman seated, ex-Regional Railways North West units have been allocated to Heaton, though a few did pop up in service in the North East in the early days of Northern Rail.

That's 20 in only a week or two though. Things will likely slow down over the festive break but nearly all could be gone by the end of January at this rate.

142046 is working the Colne branch today and 142021 is on the Huddersfield - Sheffield circuit.

I hear future NRM exhibit 142 001 this weekend is on the regular diagram that finishes with Leeds York then Heaton presumably for store. Sorry can give any more details

Was on 142027 just yesterday on the Leeds to Morecambe route, seemed in decent condition inside also so shame too see this one now in storage.

Shame none of those ex merseyrail examples are getting withdrawn yet!

I think you may find that a few Mersey ones have now been withdrawn and that 142044 has now been disposed of

Arrived York platform 11 19.07 reversed then to Heaton at 19.17 presumably both 142 001 and 065 possibly for warm store.
