Were journey planners informed about this going live? I would guess most retailers only show locations which are in a whitelist, because otherwise they'd show all kinds of junk, so if they weren't told in good time then they might not have whitelisted it
Location (real and virtual) data changes all the time. You would assume that the recipients of that data have some way of noting what is being added/amended/deleted in each night's update.

Location
Wallsend or somewhere on the ECML
Is that why there are some stations that you can find on some journey planners but not others?
I would expect so.

Amends and deletes can be done automatically, without needing manual intervention. Do additions come frequently enough without a notification to retailers to make that a worthwhile investment?

Additions happen every time a train operator creates a through fare for a non-rail destination: bus stop, ferry port, admission to a tourist attraction, etc. New railway stations are relatively few in comparison.

Easy to forget, though if you're 55 or over, the Explorer 55 ticket is £16.50 and may be better value for a Northern day trip to Blackpool + an all-day tram ticket @ £6 (£5.50 online).
