I wonder if they've gone to the expense of printing the new booklets with that glaring omission?

Incidentally -and I'm sorry that this seems like hijacking the thread, but it is a related question -does anyone know why some timetables for the Manchester area are being re-issued for the last two month's of the original timetables' span? I notice Northern TPE are doing the same thing - new timetables for just 2 month's duration.

Leaf fall season. Trains on lines like the Mid-Cheshire line, Buxton line etc. are re-timed to be a couple of minutes slower between October and December. Sometimes in the past they've included the October-December timetable with the May-October timetable but for the last few years they've done new booklets.

Just downloaded one and no train times were displayed. I'd assume the administrator of Northern's website would have been made aware of this by now.

Or maybe, just maybe, it's a cunning plan to reduce overcrowding by ensuring passengers aren't made aware of train times

Maybe there will be no trains, thus no chance of any delays or cancellations.

I would have thought the most important thing to include in a new timetable booklet is the actual times of the trains. However, Northern have decided to omit this from their new timetables

Perhaps the exhortation to save by using a DUO ticket will mean that you will have someone to keep you company whilst you wait on the platform for these non-existant train services.

At least they have put their timetables on their number 6 timetable (Carlisle to Barrow-in-Furness) that commenced on 9th September...:D

Ah, right. Thank you.

Yes, they've been updated! Given the use of the same filename, some people might need to refresh (if using Chrome which opens the PDF in the window and will load the cached file).

What a load of work Northern has made for itself. By running no trains from December, it would have been far easier to run things. :)

Maybe Northern were expecting to lose all the Pacers and realised they wouldnt be able to run any trains!

FGW could do with some new* trains.

* New as in new to the company, not new as in brand new

this information is provided for the terminally <nope>.

Its no the first time that Northern have made mistakes with their timetables as timetable number 33, Leeds - Sheffield - Nottingham had the Leeds to Sheffield / Nottingham bit excluded.

I tweeted Northern Rail yesterday but they haven't responded as of yet.

I have just had an e-mail from their Debby Corbett, Customer Relations Officer, to say the matter is already in the hands of their web team to ensure the full timetable details will appear on line. They say that they hope this will be fully completed over the next few days.
