I sent in an application for the March advertisement and haven't heard anything yet. It can take a while from experience, I got shortlisted a few years back for Sheffield and it was around 6 months before I had my interview.

There was a December advertisement for Leeds too and those applicants have only recently been replied to. I think haha

Wow it’s very surprises me that the process takes so long, surely peoples information or even careers can change in this time.

Make sure you check your junk emails. For some reason any reply I’ve had from northern have ended up in there!

I’ve just had my interview this week for a northern trainee driver job I applied for in December! Can take a while, so sit tight

How was the interview and what questions did they ask? I have my interview at the end of may.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Well done on getting so far.

The Human Resources department is very small and because of this it can take months and months to process applications, and trainee driver applications come in their thousands.

I got the same reply from them (I've also applied for the role in Leeds!). I also got an email from them yesterday saying to expect a 4-6 week wait while they process all the applications.

Yeah I got that too. I guess we're all playing the first of many waiting games now haha.

I applied March 19th and still waiting too. I've been told by a few drivers to expect a 6 month wait, but I'm hoping we hear something soon.

Just had a look at the recruitment portal and my Application Status has changed to "End of Process." Checked my emails, including the junk folder and nothing. Anybody else have the same?

So frustrating that there's no other information there to figure out what's going on, but I'm sure they're probably just working through a long list of people to email with an update. Have you not gotten any email yet either?

Yeah that's the best way to look at it I guess! Fingers crossed we'll both hear either way soon. I've also applied for a Conductor role in Leeds, and randomly have the "End of process" message beside that one, but a new application has been opened for me with today's date for that role. There's no live Conductor Leeds role, so I'm wondering if they've closed off my application by mistake and opened a new one for me.

No offence. But surely it changing to end of process cannot be taken as anything else other than you haven't got the job?
