Northern Driver Retiremnet Age

Hi, passed all the various stages and just waiting the formal offer.
Can anyone advise what the retirement age is for Northern Drivers and when you can collect the pension.
Just trying to work out my options with my current pensions scheme.

no set age as long as you are still medically fit, not sure on the pension , 54 rings a bell

Fairly certain if you're unprotected status it is 62, you can of course retire before this but there will be a financial penalty on your pension if you take it.

How can 54 ring a bell?? It’s never been that age nor likely ever to be.

some of our drivers can go at 54 actually, if you have got your yrs in , albeit you take a hit on your pension

If your ex BR you can actually go at 50, you sarky sod.

yes i was 59 6years ago when i chose to take my railway pension as a non active member it then was compulsory at 60 anyway
as an aside my lump sum at 60 would have been 25k being 25% off the total would make my pot 100k
because i took my pension a year early the 25k was now about 21.2k meaning the the extra year off paying me the then around £72 a week on the level option had now reduced my pot to around 85k

Thanks for the updates. It’s looking like 62 from speaking to someone who joined last year.
