Am wondering if a staff travel card holder who wouldn't normally not get any benefit from delay repay could claim a free ticket from Northern if their delay met the criteria? Also would the free ticket have to be used by the claimant or is it transferable?

For delay on a box I would doubt it very much.

Delay repay is available on any PRIV ticket purchased , but not on 'free' staff travel.

I sort of disagree - I've made a couple of claims where the delay on the free travel element of a longer journey has caused a valid claim and which has been met.

The original poster is asking if they can claim Northern delay repay in the form of complementary tickets to anywhere on the Northern network having travelled on their free staff pass.(not Priv rate tickets or boxes).

When a Northern complimentary ticket is issued it should have the name of the person who claimed it it on the free ticket itself. Occasionally this may be overlooked bought most of the time it does happen that the name is put on already. I believe it also say is on the back of the free tickets that it is non-transferable to the effect it may only be used by the person named.
