Currently have a Zone 2-5 MCard which according to Northerns T&C multimode cards are exempt from delay repay. Have a query however:
I dont have Zone 1 on my card as very rarely travel to Leeds or via Leeds. I mainly use it for the Wakefield - Huddersfield - Halifax line. Thats fine through the week, except on a Saturday where this line doesnt run trains due to the ongoing strike action. As a result i have to travel via Leeds to get to Huddersfield or Halifax on a Saturday, and as my MCard doesnt cover Leeds i have to pay the extra.
Am i entitled to compensation for the extra cost going via Leeds? The ticket office say no, but my argument is i dont want to go via Leeds, i have to through no fault of my own due to strike action.
Cheers
