Hey folks.

I've recently been offered a trainee conductor job starting in Feb as long as I pass my medical. I'm very excited and nervous about it but I'm sure the nerves will quickly ease off.

I'm wondering tho as it's almost a 2 hour commute for me to Leeds do you get accommodation for the time at the training centre? I'm happy to commute but it might be nice to stay over some days

Congratulations for getting through to this stage.
I was on the same course last September,at the Manchester training school and we had two people in my group that came from Workington depot. They were booked in a hotel Sunday to Friday till around week 9.So i guess they would probably do the same with you.Goodluck

Excellent. Hopefully I'll get that option. If not I guess it might be a good opportunity to use my rail pass

I'm almost certain that at that distance you would be lodging. IIRC there's no trainee parking facility at the training centre in leeds so you're looking at an unreasonably early train to get you there on time.

As an aside if you had to commute you would be paid from where you booked on to where you booked off ie Middlesborough, your home depot, so over four hours overtime a day would somewhat soothe the travelling burdon.
